Abstract :National Institutes of Technology have a mission: “to foster creative and practical technical engineers”. To achieve this mission, our electrical and electric system department has recommended the students to obtain certified technical licenses for engineers before they graduate. In this paper, first an anonymous questionnaire was conducted in order to analyze students’ awareness associated with obtaining certified engineering licenses. From the questionnaire, we found that few students have been trying to take the license independently, despite most of students have a strong interest in the licenses. Based on the analysis, the seminar which is to help support the students wishing to obtain the license for the 2nd class electric work specialist was then planned and conducted. It produced a positive result that all candidates who attended the seminar passed the qualifying examination. Moreover, it helped them deepen their understanding for working as an electric work specialist. Finally the results of this attempt were discussed and future study was proposed.
