Abstract :The Communicative English Program is a dream taken form through the efforts of the Department of Information Culture at Niigata University of International and Information Studies (NUIS). Two years since its inception, the Communicative English Program (CEP) is starting to come into its own as a language program. This paper introduces the present structure of CEP, and suggests that the time and effort invested in this program are reaping educational benefits for the learners. The latter part of this report considers the long-term viability of CEP.
